Jon Jones Talks Up Jan Blachowicz Fight; Fires Back At Anthony Smith

Recently, Dominick Reyes revealed that he’d been in advanced talks with the UFC over a potential rematch with Jon Jones before the coronavirus situation put a spanner in the works, but it seems like ‘Bones’ may be eyeing a different match-up instead.

“Now suddenly I’m afraid of a good dogfight?” Jones responded on Twitter after Reyes suggestion that the champion was wary of fighting him again. “Pretty sure I walked him down for 25 minutes straight when we fought. One thing about being the champion of the world, you got to search for fresh meat on every soil. I’m feeling like popping some in Poland, haven’t had that yet.”

That is of course a reference to Yan Blachowicz, who Jones watched from Octagon-side back in February as he KO’d Cory Anderson in the first round.

That was Blachowicz’s third win in a row, having also KO’d Luke Rockhold and decisioned Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza too on his way to the No.4 rank on the light-heavyweight ranklings, and afterwards Jones had talked up the possibility of the two fighting.

Elsewhere, Jones has also fired back at Anthony Smith, who called him “a douchebag” earlier this week for appearing to take a dig at the former title contender for candidly admitting he had a hard time subduing a home intruder who he found screaming in his computer room late at night.

“Anthony If you’re going to leave your garage door open all night, hurry up and (buy) the family a gun, some mace or something,” Jones responded. “A douche bag more like me could’ve completely had his way with you all night, that could’ve been bad for everyone.”

Jones has a habit of deleting tweets, and such was the case with this one, though he gave everyone plenty of warning first.

“Get your screenshots, here comes the delete,” Jones wrote, followed by, “This is my favorite part.

“2020 message sending. Leave something up for five minutes and let social media do the work for you.”
