Jordan Espinosa Beats Mark De La Rosa By Decision At UFC On ESPN 10

Jordan Espinosa convincingly beat Mark De La Rosa by unanimous decision tonight at UFC On ESPN 10.

Round One:

Round Two:

Espinosa working behind the jab effectively. Now a body kick. Right hand for Espinosa now, then back to the snapping jab.

Leg kick from Espinosa and a grazing counter punch lands for De La Rosa. Oblique kick for Espinosa and now a hard body kick.

Espinosa jabs to the head and then targets the body with a punch to. De La Rosa lands to the body now and then looks to work back into the clinch and try for a takedown.

Espinosa chipping away with elbows as De La Rosa goes down on one knee trying to get something working on the takedown front. Espinosa denying him and he stands back up and continues to press him into the cage.

Hard knee to the body from Espinosa and then they separate. Jab for Espinosa. Now a right hand. Outside leg kick. Jab to the body.

De La Rosa presses into range with a short flurry of punches, but Espinosa lands a nice counter punch too.

One-two for Espinosa. Now a high kick that comes off the arms of De La Rosa. Leg kick for Espinosa but it’s checked.

Jab for Espinosa and now a right hand. Crisp right hand for Espinosa. NOw an inside leg kick. One-two combo.

Round Three:

Leg kick for Espinosa. Now into the clinch and this time it’s Espinosa who is pressing De La Rosa to the cage.

He quickly moves away though and goes back to the jab. Hard right hand lands for De La Rosa. He continues with more punches, but then gets clobbered by a big counter from Espinosa.

Espinosa lands a takedown, but opts to not follow De La Rosa down and instead stays upright. De La Rosa scoots forward and Espinosa drops down and lands a punch.

Espinosa in half-guard and lands solid ground and pound. Hard right hands from Espinosa. Now a d’arce choke attempt being set up as De La Rosa goes to his knees.

De La Rosa able to escape and get upright. Jab from Espinosa. Hard body punch for De La Rosa. Espinosa lands another takedown.

De La Rosa trying for a guillotine, but Espinosa escapes. De La Rosa looking to get back up, but eats a knee to the body as he does so.

Jab still working for Espinosa. It lands again as De La Rosa lands a leg kick too. Punch for De La Rosa. Hook for Espinosa.

Solid body kick for Espinosa. He gets a right hand through too. Jab for De La Rosa. Jab for Espinosa. Failed takedown from Espinosa and De La Rosa tries to swing for the fences, but doesn’t make contact.

Into the clinch they go in the final seconds of the fight and neither man can find a finish.


No doubt about the winner here, this was a very assured, well-rounded performance from Espinosa, with his jab in particular being crisp throughout on his way to a unanimous decision victory (30-27 x2, 30-26).
