Jose Aldo Considers Boxing After Retiring From MMA

Brazilian star Jose Aldo has confirmed that he’s considering boxing at some stage in the future after his recent retirement from competing in MMA.

In an interview with Globo Esporte, the 36-year-old also shut down talk that he might end up signing for another MMA promotion, revealing that he’s technically still under contract with the UFC.

“I’m trying to see the best path I’ll take right now,” Aldo said. “I won’t fight MMA, that’s for sure. I thank everybody calling me from other promotions, but I haven’t left the UFC, I remain under contract with them. I’ll see where I’ll fit.”

It’s been no secret that Aldo has long harboured ambitions to compete in the boxing ring, but despite that door now being open to him at last it seems like he’s in no immediate rush to do so.

“Boxing is a possibility.” “It was always a dream I had in my life, I never hid that from anyone. It was always a dream. But let’s see. Everybody says I’m still young, that I have a few years [left].

“First, for now, with the birth of my son, I want to enjoy my family, and then I’ll think of the professional side.”
