Jose Aldo Requires Hospital Treatment After Suffering From Kidney Stones Following UFC 163

Jose Aldo suffer a broken foot during his latest victory at UFC 163 this past weekend and just a few days later he’s been hospitalized again after being diagnosed with kidney stones.

Aldo was taken to hospital on Tuesday with the condition, but his coach Andre Pederneiras claims that it’s not a serious problem on this occasion.  The UFC featherweight champion has suffered from kidney stones in the past so this painful process is nothing new to him.

Despite his ailments Aldo was able to successfully defend his title against ‘The Korean Zombie’ after capitalizing on his opponent suffering a dislocated shoulder in the fourth round of their headlining fight.

Given that Aldo was already having to take an extended break from training due to his foot injury this latest ailment isn’t an issue that will affect when he fights next, but no doubt the 26 year-old would rather be spending this rare spell of free-time anywhere else other than a hospital bed so we hope he gets well soon.

Over the years I've watched the UFC develop into the powerhouse it is today, organizations like PRIDE, Strikeforce and WEC rise and fall, and Bellator emerge as a new force on the MMA landscape. Throughout it all I've remained captivated by the sport and I'm excited to cover what comes next here on MMA Insight.
