According to reports out of Brazil, former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo’s next fight may well be a rematch with Ricardo Lamas in December.
Aldo previously fought Lamas at UFC 169 in February of 2014 at a time when he was still the champion and his opponent was on a four-fight winning streak in the Octagon.
The Brazilian emerged victorious on that occasion by way of unanimous decision, and since then has logged victories over Chad Mendes and Frankie Edgar, while also picking up losses against both Conor McGregor and Max Holloway.
As for Lamas, he’s been the busier of the two, going 5-2 during the same period, including a recent two-fight winning streak against Charles Oliveira and Jason Knight.
Aldo Vs Lamas II isn’t officially signed as of yet though, and according to the former champion’s coach Andre Pederneiras, an exact date for the fight has also still to be established, with either November of December believed to be the likely landing spots for it.
If so, that would most likely place the contest at either UFC 218 in Detroit on December 2nd or UFC 219 in Las Vegas on December 30th.
