Katlyn Chookagian has quickly booked another fight in the Octagon, this time against Manon Fiorot at UFC: Paris (aka UFC Fight Night 214) on September 3rd.
Chookagian battled her way to a split-decision win over Amanda Ribas just a couple of weeks ago at UFC On ESPN 36, and afterwards she called out Fiorot, paving the way for this match-up to become a reality.
The 33-year-old Chookagian’s latest victory was her fourth in a row, having also earned wins on the scorecards against Cynthia Calvillo, Viviane Araujo and Jennifer Maia over the past couple of years.
That’s left Chookagian with an 11-4 UFC record and keeps her firmly placed at No.1 on the women’s bantamweight rankings, yet still without a title shot for the time being.
As for Fiorot, She has racked up a four-fight winning streak of her own since joining the UFC in January of last year, starting strongly with back-to-back TKO wins over Victoria Leonardo and Tabatha Ricci.
Since then she’s also earned decision victories over Mayra Bueno Silva and most recently Jennifer Maia to swiftly rise up to No.6 on the 135lb ladder.
Chookagian vs. Fiorot joins a UFC: Paris card that’s expected to be headlined by heavyweight action as Ciryl Gane takes on Tai Tuivasa for the UFC’s first ever event in France.
