Kevin Holland vs. Kyle Daukaus Heading To UFC Fight Night 195

A middleweight fight between Kevin Holland and Kyle Daukaus is reportedly heading to UFC Fight Night 195 on October 2nd, though it’s not yet been officially announced.

By that stage it’ll have been six months since Holland’s last Octagon outings, and that’s unusual for him as he helped build his name by being one of the busiest fighters on the roster in recent times.

That was a strategy that paid off well for him in 2020, racking up five wins in a row, including a KO of Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza and TKO’s of Anthony Hernandez, Joaquin Buckley and Charlie Ontiveros.

However, Holland hasn’t been able to keep that run going in 2021 so far, with Derek Brunson exposing weaknesses in his ground game and then Marvin Vettori further exploiting that in their unanimous decision victories over him, which led to calls for the 28-year-old to take time out to work on his takedown defense and wrestling ability.

When he returns he will be facing a fighter in Daukaus who could potentially test his mat work, as eight of his ten career victories have come by way of submission.

That being said, Daukaus has only won once in his three UFC fights so far, with a win over Dustin Stolzfus being bookended by losses to Brendan Allen and Phil Hawes.

Holland vs. Daukaus joins a UFC Fight Night 195 card that is expected to be headlined by a light-heavyweight fight between Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker.
