Kevin Lee Head Kick Ko’s Gregor Gillespie In Opening Round At UFC 244

Kevin Lee earned a spectacular first round head kick victory over Gregor Gillespie at UFC 244 in New York.

Round One:

Lee immediately landing a crisp jab at the start of the fight, but Gillespie is also finding a home for his too.

Gillespie reaching for a leg, but can’t get it and so they go back to striking and at this stage both men are showing a willingness to engage on those terms despite their grappling prowess.

Lee already showing a little wear and tear around his eyes from these jabs, but he lands a nice straight right, the best strike of the fight so far.

Gillespie also landing a right. He tries to work into a clinch but Lee fires off punches to back him off.

Hard punches land on both sides. Suddenly Lee lands a right hand and then follows up with a perfectly placed head kick and it knocks Gillespie out cold, sending him falling flying back into the cage on his way to the mat with 2.47mins on the clock.

Stunning KO finish for Lee then that both ends Gillespie’s night and his unbeaten 13-0 record.
