Luke Rockhold Puts Paulo Costa On Blast For Trying To Delay UFC 277 Fight

Luke Rockhold’s patience appears to be wearing thin with Paulo Costa after claiming that the Brazilian fighter keeps trying to delay their upcoming fight, which is currently set to take place at UFC 277 on July 30th in Texas.

“It’s been a headache and process, (and he) just doesn’t make it easy,” Luke Rockhold said of Costa during an interview with Submission Radio. “It’s just, I don’t know what he’s doing behind the scenes, getting veneers or getting his f*cking whole face redone, getting a new nose? What’s next? I don’t know. But everything, I think he’s getting all his cosmetic work probably or something, is what I think is going on, cause he just keeps delaying. He might come out looking like Caitlyn Jenner. You never know.”

“He’s trying to delay the fight again to August 20,” Luke Rockhold continued. “This guy is – something’s going on behind the scenes. I don’t know what you’re doing over there, Caitlyn.

“We wanted July 2., and then I think he had his first surgery. And then there’s July 30. And then I think he’s on his second or this, and then they want to go to August 20. That’s all I’m hearing right now.”

Rockhold seems willing to agree to that, but has warned that he’ll move on if Costa tries to delay the fight again.

“This is the last straw. I mean, the UFC wants it, I want to fight, I love it, I love the fight, but I ain’t gonna wait any longer, and I’ll be ready if something else happens otherwise to somebody else, too. So, I’m in training, I’m working, nothing’s changing, and I’m just getting better. I’m just getting f*cking better everyday.”

There’s certainly a lot of pressure on Costa right now as he’s coming off two losses in a row against Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori, and Rockhold believes that, coupled with his recent issues with weight-cutting might be taking a toll on him mentally.

“I think he wants to fight. I just think he’s just worried about weight and coming back after two losses and like, this is when you find out who the f*ck you are,” Rockhold said. “You lose, and you come back. You know, you have all the confidence in the world when you’re winning, but when you get shook, you get shook. And so let’s see what you’ve f*cking got. This is when the real fighters come out. This is when the men come out, and he’s proven that he’s just a f*cking boy.”
