Mackenzie Dern vs. Angela Hill has been moved from a main card spot on this coming weekend’s UFC On ABC 4 event to a headlining role at UFC Fight Night 224 on May 20th instead.
The switch came after UFC Fight Night 224 lost it’s originally planned main event after Irene Aldana was given the opportunity to fight for the bantamweight title against Amanda Nunes at UFC 289.
That leaves Raquel Pennington without a fight, but it’s now been confirmed that she’ll serve as the back-up fighter for Nnunes vs. Aldana instead, paving the way for Dern vs. Hill to take center-stage at UFC Fight Night 224.
For Dern the higher-profile spot comes at a time when she’s lost two of her last three fights, with a victory over Tecia Torres being sandwiched in-between decision losses to Marina Rodriguez and Yan Xiaonan.
As for Hill, after a rough spell that saw her win just once in six fights, she’s currently enjoying a run of back-to-back victories against Lupita Godinez and Emily Ducote.
Dern vs. Hill will front a UFC Fight Night 224 card that also features the likes of Edmen Shahbazyan vs. Anthony Hernandez, Andre Fialho vs. Joaquin Buckley and Carlos Diego Ferreira vs. Michael Johnson.
