A heavyweight clash between Marcin Tybura and Blogoy Ivanov has been scheduled for UFC Fight Night 218 on February 4th.
The 37-year-old Tybura has been on an impressive run over the past three years, managing to put together a record of six wins and only one defeat.
Along the way he’s defeated the likes of Sergey Spivak, Maxim Grishin, Ben Rothwell, Greg Hardy, Walt Harris and most recently Alexander Romanov, with his only loss during that time coming against Alexander Volkov back in 2021.
That’s left Tybura ranked No.10 in the division as he prepares to face the 36-year-old Ivanov, who is placed No.15 in the rankings after a unanimous decision win over Marcos Rogerio De Lima back in May.
Before that Ivanov had suffered back-to-back split decision losses to Derrick Lewis and Augusto Sakai, leaving him with a 3-3 record overall in the UFC.
Tybura vs. Ivanov joins a UFC Fight Night 218 card that at one stage was earmarked to take place in South Korea, but has since been moved back to Las Vegas and will be headlined by more heavyweight action, with Derrick Lewis set to fight Sergey Spivak.
