Marlon Moraes Brutally KO’s Aljamain Sterling With Knee At UFC Fight Night 123

Former WSOF champ Marlon Moraes made a huge statement in the bantamweight division tonight at UFC Fight Night 123 as he landed a devastating knockout knee barely a minute into his fight with Aljamain Sterling.

Round One:

Leg kick for Sterling to start. He tries to go usptairs and misses. Moraes with a few punches. Moraes catches a kick and bundles Sterling to the mat from it.

Moraes opts to remains standing and Sterling obliges. Moraes working the jab to the head and body. Punch from Moraes drops Sterling. He follows him to the mat and immediately Sterling is looking for a submission attempt.

Moraes gets out of that and backs up to his feet. He wants to get back to striking again and as Sterling immediately ducks in for a takedown Moraes blasts him with what was supposed to be a kick, but ended up being a knee instead to the face that knocks him out cold at 1.07mins of the first round.

Brutal finish and Sterling was unconscious for a long time after that knockout blow. Huge win for Moraes though and that should send him catapulting up the bantamweight rankings.
