Marvin Vettori vs. Roman Dolidze Targeted For UFC 286

A middleweight fight between Marvin Vettori and Roman Dolidze has been targeted for the UFC 286 event in London, England on March 18th.

Vettori’s last fight saw him lose out by unanimous decision against former champion Robert Whittaker at the UFC’s first ever show in Paris.

Before that he’d beaten Paulo Costa on the scorecards to ease the disappointment of a second unsuccessful attempt to seize the middleweight title from Israel Adesanya back in 2021.

That leaves the 29-year-old Vettori ranked No.4 in the 185lb division heading into his next fight against Dolidze, who is four places behind him.

The 34-year-old Dolidze is building up a head of steam though after racking up four wins in a row over the past couple of years.

Along the way he’s beaten Laureano Staropoli on the scorecards, before going on to KO both Kyle Daukaus and Phil Hawes in the first round, while just a couple of weeks ago he TKO’d Jack Hermansson.

Vettori vs. Dolidze joins a UFC 286 event that currently has no other fights officially attached to it, though it is expected to feature Leon Edwards first welterweight title defense – potentially in a rematch with Kamaru Usman, though rumors have been swirling that the former champ may have to undergo hand surgery instead.
