A welterweight fight between Matt Brown and Court McGee will take place at UFC Fight Night 225 on May 13th at a location still to be announced.
“Coming back, I’m going to smash some faces,” Brown revealed on the Fighter vs. The Writer podcast. “Court, he’s a great guy, I’ve hung out with him before. Great competitor. We both have similar backgrounds in some respects. We both overdosed. He’s really embraced that.
“So I’ve got a lot of respect for the guy but I’m ready to go in there and smash his f******* face in with my elbow.”
The 42-year-old Brown is coming in off a split decision loss to Bryan Barberena back in March of last year.
That marked Brown’s third loss in his last four fights, having also been TKO’d by Miguel Baeza and lost out by decision to Carlos Condit along with a KO victory over Dhiego Lima.
Meanwhile, the 38-year-old McGee was KO’d by Jeremiah Wells in his last fight in June of last year, but he’d won back-to-back decisions over Claudio Silva and Ramiz Brahimaj before that.
Brown vs McGee joins a UFC Fight Night 225 card that is expected to be headlined by Anthony Smith vs. Johnny Walker.
