Matt Hughes Joins Dana White On Stage Following Premiere Of ‘A Country Boy Can Survive’ Documentary

UFC legend Matt Hughes joined Dana White on stage prior to the UFC 229 press conference late last week following the premiere of a new documentary about his life called ‘A Country Boy can Survive.’

The title couldn’t be more fitting given that it is a miracle that the former welterweight champion is alive today after his truck was hit by a train at a rail crossing near his home in June of last year, leaving him in a coma with severe head trauma.

At one stage it was feared Hughes wouldn’t make it, but showing the same strength, courage and determination that made him a world champion, he has since battled back, and is continuing to defy expectations as his recovery continues.

Dana White admitted he was on the verge of crying on stage as he spoke about Hughes, who soon joined him to say a few words as you’ll see in the video clip below.

Ross launched MMA Insight (previously FightOfTheNight.com) in 2009 as a way to channel his passion for the sport of mixed martial arts. He's since penned countless news stories and live fight reports along with dozens of feature articles as the lead writer for the site, reaching millions of fans in the process.
