Max Holloway Pulls Out Of Frankie Edgar Fight At UFC 222

Featherweight champion Max Holloway has been forced to withdraw from his fight with Frankie Edgar at UFC 222 on March 3rd due to an as yet undisclosed injury.

This is the second time that the fight has fallen through, with Edgar having pulled of out of the original booking at UFC 218 in December due to an injury.

Since the nature of Holloway’s injury has not yet been announced it remains to be seen whether the fight can be rescheduled in the near future, or if the champion will be on the sidelines for an extended period of time.

In the mean time, the UFC 222 card is now in real need of an alternative headliner, with the most notable fight on the rest of the pay-per-view line-up being a heavyweight encounter between Andrei Arlovski and Stefan Struve, with the likes of Hector Lombard Vs CB Dollaway and Cat Zingano Vs Ketlen Vieira supporting it.
