Mayweather Invites McGregor To Train At His Gym; ‘The Notorious’ Shuts Him Down

Floyd Mayweather Jr appeared to be sending out an olive branch to Conor McGregor earlier this week when he publicly invited him to train at his gym in Las Vegas ahead of his UFC 229 fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov in October, but it seems ‘The Notorious’ isn’t interested in building a friendship with his old rival just yet.

“I know that UFC has a training facility, but we’d like him to work at the Mayweather boxing club,” Mayweather told TMZ Sports.

Mayweather went on to praise McGregor, saying that he won’t back down from anyone.

“I don’t really have a prediction because I’ve never seen the guy fight that’s facing Conor McGregor—from what I know he’s a hell of a guy that’s on the ground—hell of a grappler—and he can wrestle.

“But, the fans want to see you stand up and fight. That’s what the fans like to see. But, Conor McGregor, he’s a tough competitor, like I said before Conor McGregor’s not gonna back down from anyone, he’s not scared, he’s a warrior.”

However, his praise has apparently fell on deaf ears because McGregor has since responded in typically fiery fashion.

“F—k the Mayweathers, except Senior and Roger,” McGregor wrote on Twitter. “There is no peace here kid. Step up or step down.”
