Michael Bisping hasn’t made up his mind yet as to whether he will have one last fight in the UFC before retiring, but he has admitted that there’s one fighter in particular that could convince him to return to the Octagon – Luke Rockhold.
“If that motherf**ker wants to throw down at 205 [pounds], yeah, we can entertain that, buddy,” Bisping said on his ‘Believe You Me’ Podcast. “I’ve got no problem knocking you out again.”
‘The Count’ has already gone up against Rockhold twice over the past few years, losing out by submission the first time they fought in Australia back in 2014, and then getting revenge a couple of years later when he stepped in as a short-notice replacement and produced a major upset by KO’ing his rival in the first round to claim the middleweight title.
Bisping has had three fights since then, avenging another loss to Dan Henderson, before suffering back-to-back defeats inside the distance against Georges St-Pierre and Kelvin Gastelum in the space of a month.
Meanwhile, Rockhold had a lengthy spell on the sidelines after losing to Bisping, but bounced back with a win over David Branch and then another tough knockout defeat against Yoel Romero earlier this month.
“I’ll fight him at 205, I’ll fight him at 185,” Bisping stated. “I’m not bothered. That’s if I’m gonna fight again, if the deal is right. Fortunately now, I’m in a good place.”
“I still love fighting. Fighting’s what I do, that’s provided me this platform and I still feel like I’ve got at least one more in me. I’ve got more than that in me but I’m just saying from my business perspective maybe one more makes sense, maybe two more, maybe no more. We’ll see what the future holds if the deal is right.”
