Michael Johnson will fight Andre ‘Touchy’ Fili in a featherweight clash at UFC Fight Night 135 in Lincoln, Nebraska on August 25th.
Johnson will be looking to get his first win at 145lbs after dropping down to the division in January and suffering a second round submission loss to Darren Elkins.
In total Johnson has now lost five of his last six fights, though the competition has been stiff during that time, losing out to the likes Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Nate Diaz and Beneil Dariush, while his solitary win came against Dustin Poirier.
Now he faces an in-form Fili, who after alternating consistently between wins and loses throughout the duration of his UFC career, finally notched up back-to-back victories over Artem Lobov and Dennis Bermudez recently, meaning he’ll be riding high on confidence heading into this match-up.
Johnson Vs Fili joins a UFC Fight Night 135 card that will be headlined by a fight between Justin Gaethje and James Vick, while Alexa Grasso Vs Angela Hill is among the other bouts so far scheduled for the event.
