A UFC women’s strawweight fight between Michelle Waterson and Cortney Casey has been added to the line-up for UFC On FOX 29 on April 14th in Arizona.
This will be Waterson’s third UFC On FOX appearance in her last four fights and comes at a time when she’s looking to bounce back after suffering two losses in a row.
Both of those defeats occured in 2017, with a submission loss to future champion Rose Namajunas being followed up by a decision defeat against Tecia Torres in December, resulting in ‘The Karate Hottie’ sliding to No.7 in the 115lb rankings.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Casey has also been suffering mixed fortunes in the Octagon of late, with two defeats from her last three bouts.
That spell began with a decision loss to Claudia Gadelha back in late 2016, though she then picked up a win on the scorecards against Jessica Aguilar, before coming out on the wrong end of a split decision verdict against Felice Herrig in December, leaving her ranked No.13 in the division.
Waterson Vs Casey joins a UFC On FOX 29 card that will be headlined by a lightweight clash between Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier, while Carlos Condit will fight fellow welterweight veteran Matt Brown.
