Michelle Waterson-Gomez next fight will be against Luana Pinheiro at UFC 287 on April 8th at a destination still to be confirmed.
The 37-year-old Waterson comes into this fight with just one win to show from her last five Octagon appearances.
Waterson has faced a tough line-up of competition during that time, with her losses coming against Joanna Jedrezjczyk, Carla Esparza, Marina Rodriguez and most recently Amanda Lemos, with her sole win during that period coming against Angela Hill back in 2020.
As such, Waterson has slid to No.11 on the strawweight rankings as she prepares to take on the the 29-year-old Pinheiro, who holds a 10-1 career record.
That includes two wins in the UFC so far for the former Contender Series recruit, who has beaten Randa Markos and Sam Hughes in order to land this higher profile match-up.
Waterson vs. Pinheiro joins a UFC 287 fight card that’s still in it’s formative stages with no main event or even a location confirmed at this stage, though Rob Font vs. Adrian Yanez and Cynthia Calvillo vs. Lupita Godinez have also been announced for it.
