A postponed women’s bantamweight fight between Miesha Tate and Ketlen Vieira will now headline UFC Fight Night 198 on November 20th in Las Vegas.
The bout had previously been booked to top the bill at UFC Fight Night 195 on October 16th, but Tate had to withdraw recently after testing positive for Covid-19.
Luckily it seems that the former bantamweight champion appears to have made a relatively swift recovery and has now agreed to the new date for the fight.
“I loved the workout today, Covid had me down but it can’t keep me there,” Tate wrote on Instagram yesterday. “I’m still coming for that ass @ketlenvieiraufc!”
Tate will be looking for her second win in a row since coming out of retirement after four-and-a-half years on the sidelines earlier in the year.
‘Cupcake’s’ first fight back saw her take on Marion Reneau and led to her earning a third round TKO stoppage win, propelling her back into the 135lb rankings at No.8.
Meanwhile, Vieira’s only fight of the years so far saw her lose to Yana Kunitskaya on the scorecards.
That was Vieira’s second loss in her last three fights, having lost by first round KO against Irene Aldana and then picked up a decision win against Sijara Eubanks.
Tate vs. Vieira headlines a UFC Fight Night 198 card that will also feature Michael Chiesa vs. Sean Brady and Joanne Calderwood vs. Alexa Grasso.
