Former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate has just been crowned the winner of the latest season of the Celebrity Big Brother reality show.
Tate had been a contestant on the show that started earlier this year with 11 other celebrities including the likes of former NBA star Lamar Odom, N-Sync founding member Chris Kirkpatrick and comedian Chris Kattan.
During a three week run on the show Tate and the other contestants competed in challenges and vote-offs, during which Tate won four ‘Head Of Household’ competitions.
That left Tate being one of the final three contestants alongside singer Todrick Hall and TV personality Cynthia Bailey, before finally being voted the winner by 7 votes to 1 by her fellow contestants, winning a cool $250,000 in the process.
“This is so surreal,” Tate said after her win was announced. “I don’t know if I can quite put words to the feeling that I have right now.”
Tate returned to fighting in the UFC last year, over four years after retiring soon after losing the 135lb title back in 2016.
Her comeback started well with a TKO victory over Marion Reneau, but her title aspirations were served a blow a few months later when she was to Ketlen Vieira by unanimous decision.
