Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal have been on a four-leg tour of the U.S. this week to promote their upcoming boxing match on June 1st, but it seems that Diaz finally had enough just 18 minutes into the final presser in Los Angeles.
“It was a fun tour going out here and all this s*** all over f****** USA,” Diaz said while up on-stage. “I’m done with all this s***. I’m cool off with all this f****** talking s***. I got a whole team to represent. I don’t want to do none of this. I never did want to do any of it.
“F*** this n***a and f*** his team, bro. I’m out. I gotta go.
“Square off with yourself motherf*****.”
Fans will of course recall that Diaz’s similar walk-off during a presser with Conor McGregor at UFC 202 back in 2016 led to scenes of carnage amid a hail of bottles being thrown back-and-forth, but this time around it was less dramatic.
“Just show up to the fight,” Masvidal said as Diaz walked off. “That’s it. Just show up to the fight, man.”
The two stars previously fought in the UFC at UFC 224 back in 2019, with Masvidal winning on that occasion via TKO at the end of the third round due to a doctor’s stoppage.
However, since then Masvidal has gone on a four-fight losing streak and retired last year before making a comeback for this rematch in the boxing ring. As for Diaz, he picked up another win and a loss in the Octagon before leaving to pursue a boxing match with Jake Paul, which he lost via unanimous decision.
Despite their current focus on boxing, both Diaz and Masvidal stated earlier this week that they have plans to return to the UFC in the future.
