A welterweight fight between Neil Magny and Rafael dos Anjos has been announced for UFC 215 in Alberta, Edmonton, Canada on September 9th.
Magny is one of the divisions most consistent performances, having won 11 of his last 13 fights at 170lbs.
Over the past couple of years he’s defeated the likes of Kelvin Gastelum, Hector Lombard, Erick Silva and most recently former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks, leaving him ranked No.6 in the division.
As for Dos Anjos, the former lightweight champion successfully made his welterweight debut last month with a decision win over Tarec Saffiedine, which has resulted in him being installed at No.10 in the divisional rankings.
At this stage the UFC 215 fight card is still in the process of being formed and so an official bout order isn’t known yet, but Magny Vs Dos Anjos is sure to land a spot on the pay-per-view portion of the card, which will be headlined by Demetrious Johnson’s latest flyweight title defense against Ray Borg, with women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes fighting Valentina Shevchenko in the co-main event slot.
