A light-heavyweight fight between Ovince Saint Preux and Dominick Reyes has been set for UFC 229 in Las Vegas on October 6th.
Saint Preux emerged with a first round armbar victory over Tyson Pedro at UFC Fight Night 132 in June, cancelling out a first round guillotine choke loss to Ilir Latifi in his previous fight at UFC On FOX 28 earlier in the year.
In total that means OSP has now won three of his past four fights, with his other victories coming against Yushin Okami and Corey Anderson, leaving him ranked No.7 in the division.
Reyes is a less established but fast rising contender in the 205lb division, having so far earned three victories in a row since joining the promotion last year, all coming in the first round.
The 28-year-old started off with a TKO victory over Joachim Christensen, followed by a submission win over Jeremy Kimball and then most recently a TKO stoppage against Jared Cannonier.
That’s taken Reyes’ overall record to 9-0 and leaves him placed at No.12 in the divisional rankings, with plenty of room for growth if he can continue his current winning streak.
OSP Vs Reyes is the latest addition to a rapidly expanding UFC 229 fight card that is headlined by the fight of the year between lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, with Derrick Lewis Vs Alexander Volkov expected to serve as the co-main event.
