Paddy Pimblett Aiming for Renato Moicano Fight Next

Paddy Pimblett has named Renato Moicano as the fighter he wants to fight when he returns to the Octagon.

Don’t expect the fight to happen in the near future though as the UK star says he has two new additions to the Pimblett family to take care of first.

“Laura’s going to have the babies [twins] in about 6 weeks, a busy couple of months ahead,” Pimblett said on his YouTube channel. “Then we’ll get a fight sorted.”

“I saw something the other day on Twitter. I’m meant to be fighting Renato Moicano on UFC 301. No, no. The kids will be about two weeks old, something like that. I’m not fighting that soon. I won’t be fighting until like June [or] July.”

That being said, the 29-year-old Pimblett, who is unbeaten in his five UFC fights so far, confirmed that he does want to the fight the 34-year-old Moicano later this year.

“We’ll see when I do end up fighting but that is who I want next. Renato Moicano, ‘Money’ Moicano. You owe me money, lad. I’m coming for you, you little sausage.”

If that fight did happen it would be the first time that Pimblett has faced a ranked opponent, with Moicano currently residing in the No.13 spot on the lightweight ladder after back-to-back wins over Brad Riddell and Drew Dober.

Howwever, Moicano was recently booked to fight Jalin Turner at UFC 300, and as such he’s responded to Pimblett’s call-out by suggesting that his rival is just playing games and doesn’t really intend to face him.

“Paddy pimblett always a tough guy when someone gets booked to a fight!!!” Moicano, wrote on X. “He’s representing everything that’s wrong with society!!! Our grandparents heroes were military generals and statesmen our parents hero’s were sport athletes and now this generation heroes are clowns!#ufc.”
