Paddy Pimblett Calls Out Renato Moicano

Renato Moicano earned a decision win over Drew Dober at UFC Fight Night 235 this past weekend and then suggested that Paddy Pimblett fight Dober next, but it seems ‘The Baddy’ has a better idea.

“I want to see Drew Dober fighting Paddy Pimblett next,” Moicano said on X after his victory. “Let’s see how tough is this kid.”

However, Pimblett soon countered that with a suggestion of his own.

“Why would I fight Dober when I can smoke U much easier?” Pimblett replied to the No.13 ranked Moicano.

With the 29-year-old Pimblett now having won five fights in a row since joining the UFC, including beating Tony Ferguson on the scorecards last time out, he is now at a stage where fighting a ranked opponent makes sense, and while Moicano initially had his sights set on fighting a Top 10 opponent next, he’s quickly warming up to the idea of fighting the UK star.

“Paddy is calling me out. I fight you any day of the week,” Moicano stated. “I want [to] fight Dariush but if Paddy wants the smoke, he can have it.”

An injury had kept the 34-year-old Moicano from competing last year, but he had earned a submission win over Brad Riddell in 2022 and has won four of his last five fights.

It remains to be seen whether the UFC will be on-board with the idea of these two fighting, but with Pimblett being a larger-than-life character and Moicano also becoming increasingly known for his outspoken persona it feels like a match-up that could appeal to them.
