Paige VanZant Requiries Yet More Surgery On Her Arm

Paige VanZant’s return to the Octagon has been delayed again after she revealed that she’s now preparing to under a third surgery on her broken right arm.

PVZ spent a year out due to having broke her arm during her fight with Jessica-Rose Clark in early 2018, but did return to action with a win over Rachael Ostovich in January of this year.

However, she subsequently reinjured the arm and had to pull out of a fight scheduled for April, and now she’s had to abandon plans to make her comeback in July as well to undergo another operation on the limb.

“I actually sparred last month and was doing strength and conditioning,” VanZant told ESPN.com. “I wanted to be on the UFC card on July 20 in Texas, but my chiropractor wanted me to get my arm checked out again before accepting a fight. I saw a surgeon who works with the Portland Trail Blazers, and he told me, ‘Yes, you 100 percent need surgery.’

Despite that setback, PVZ has vowed to heal up and get back to fighting.

“After the second surgery, I said, ‘If I break my arm again, I’m quitting. I’m just not meant to fight,’” VanZant continued “But now that I’ve done it again, I’m at a point where it’s like, ‘No, I just don’t give a (expletive) anymore. My stupid arm is not going to stop me.’ I need one more surgery, and I’m going to be fine.”
