UFC strawweight fighter Paige VanZant continues to prove she has mainstream appeal as she’s just been announced as a contestant on a celebrity edition of the Food Network show, ‘Chopped.’
In the show’s opening ‘appetizer’ round, PVZ will be given 20 minutes to prepare a dish from the ingredients she’s been given, after which point her meal will be evaluated by the judges to decide whether she moves on to the final ‘dinner’ and ‘dessert’ rounds.
The 22-year-old fighter will be competing against three other sport stars in this round of the show, going up against former Olympic champion, figure skater Dorothy Hamill, NFL player LaMarr Woodley and another Olympic gold medalist in fencing, Mariel Zagunis, while a total of 16 celebrities will be participating overall.
Competing against other celebs is nothing new for VanZant, who came in second place during a successful run on ABC’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’ last year.
Inside the Octagon PVZ experienced mixed fortunes in 2016, claiming a highlight-reel head kick KO against Bec Rawlings at UFC On FOX 21, but then suffering a first round submission loss to Michelle Waterson at UFC On FOX 22.
Just a couple of weeks ago, VanZant indicated that she’s currently in the process of figuring out when she’ll next return to the Octagon.
“Working on my next fight contract,” PVZ wrote on Twitter. “Alright fans, When? Where? And Who? let the @ufc know you want PVZ Back in the cage “
