Rizin World Grand-Prix Results

The Rizin World Grand-Prix Opening Round Part 2 took place in Japan earlier today and you can see all the results below.

The main event featured a women’s atomweight tournament bout in which Rena Kubota emerged victorious after folding up Andy Nguyen with a body shot mid-way through the first round.

The other three tournament bouts saw Maria Oliveira and Kanna Asakura book their places in the next round with unanimous decision victories, while Irene Cabellow joined them after a second round armbar submission win.

Another notable bout on the car saw aging MMA legends Kazushi Sakuraba and Frank Shamrock compete in a submission-only match-up, but there wasn’t much action to speak of and the bout ended in a draw.

Earlier on the card Gabriel Oliveira stopped former UFC fighter Tatsuya Kawajiri by KO due to a knee in the second round of their bantamweight tournament wild-card bout.
