Rob Font vs. Marlon Vera In The Works To Headline UFC Fight Night 208

A bantamweight fight between Rob Font and Marlon Vera has been targeted to headline UFC Fight Night 208 on April 30th in Las Vegas.

The 34-year-old Font is coming off a unanimous decision loss in his five-round main event with Jose Aldo back in December of last year.

However, Font still holds the No.5 spot on the official bantamweight rankings thanks to the four-fight winning streak that proceeded that loss, during which he defeated the likes of Sergio Pettis, Ricky Simon, Marlon Moraes and Cody Garbrandt.

As for Vera, the 29-year-old is on a high after clocking up a KO win over none other than Frankie Edgar back in November. Prior to that Vera had also beaten Davey Grant by decision and is currently ranked No.8 in the 13lb division.

Font vs. Vera would headline a UFC Fight Night 208 card that at one stage was supposed to feature Donald Cerrone vs. Joe Lauzon until that fight was bumped to UFC 274 instead. As things stand the remaining card will certainly feel the loss of that level of star power, leaving the line-up with the likes of Krzysztof Jotko vs. Gerald Meerschaert, Antonina Shevchenko vs. Casey Kenney and Jessica Penne vs. Luana Pinheiro.
