Sage Northcutt KO’s Zak Ottow In Second Round At UFC Fight Night 133

Sage Northcutt earned one of his most impressive wins to date tonight at UFC Fight Night 133 with a KO stoppage victory over Zak Ottow.

Round One:

Ottow immediately lands a big punch and takes him to the mat off of it. He’s in the center of the Octagon here as he works in Northcutt’s guard.

Getting to his feet over Northcutt, Ottow eats an upkick, but then manages to move to half guard. He almost gets to full count, but then goes back to half-guard and settles in.

Punches for Ottow. Northcutt Looking to stand but keeps is neck vulnerable and Ottow wraps a guillotine choke. Northcutt scrambles out of that and is on his back again.

Northcutt tries for an armbar and then thinks about a kneebar, but Ottow steers clear of that. Ottow back to posturing over Ottow. Northcutt with another clipping upkick, but soon after Ottow neatly moves to side control.

Ottow steps over into full mount now in the final minute, but Northcutt does well to power back up to his feet.

Northcutt coming forward aggressively with left hands and puts Ottow under pressure. Now he goes for a guillotine and goes to the ground with it. He steps into full mount and doesn’t get the finish, but ends the round landing punches.

Round Two:

Double jab for Northcutt. Now a body kick. Ottow in on a single leg takedown and completes it. He gets Northcutt to the cage and looks to pass into full mount. Short punches to the face as Northcutt gets to his knee and then stands.

Ottow stays latched on and lands a knee. However, Northcutt lands a knee of his own and then a couple of punches.

Ottow dives in on a single-leg attempt. He almost gets him down, but Northcutt stays upright this time. Ottow stays clinched up afterwards though and drives him to the cage.

Northcutt reverses the position. Ottow landing a couple of knees to the body. Knees for Northcutt and then a nic eelbow. Nice left and right hook for Northcutt. He’s starting to get more aggressive with his striking here.

Hard left jab hurts Ottow, then a takedown by Northcutt before he can regain his bearings and a quick flurry of ground and pound strikes is all it takes for ‘Super’ Sage to end the fight by knockout at 3.13mins of round two!
