Not only did Sage Northcutt get knocked out in just 29 seconds in his ONE FC debut against Cosmo Alexandre this past weekend, but he then also had to undergo surgery for the injuries he received from the finishing blow.
The one punch knockout from the former kickboxing world champion had a devastating impact, leaving the 23-year-old Northcutt with no less than eight facial fractures.
Despite that Northcutt appeared to be in good spirits and was complimentary of the care he’d received courtesy of ONE FC.
“Fresh out of surgery…I had 8 fractures and a nine hour intense operation,” Northcutt wrote on Instagram. “Feeling blessed for the amazing care and all the support from @onechampionship, my family/friends and fans! My Terminator face is not too Shabby.. 💀“I’ll be back!” Next post is catheter removal😳…stay tuned-JK 😎.”
The defeat ended a three-fight winning streak Northcutt had been riding in the UFC before his departure, leaving him with an overall 11-3 record so far in his career.
