Sam Alvey Reveals He Suffered Broken Jaw As Winless Streak Continues

Sam Alvey suffered a first round TKO loss against Michal Oleksiejczuk at UFC On ESPN 40 on Saturday night and he’s now he’s revealed that his opponent actually broke his jaw with the first punch he threw in the bout.

“I spent a lot of time last night thinking about this and I’ve finally accepted it myself,” Alvey said on TikTok. “I hope y’all forgive me but I am not the greatest fighter to have ever lived. To tell you, it hurts saying out loud. Oh, goodness. I was convinced I could beat anybody at anytime. I guess not.

“I would still say there’s not a person on the planet that likes doing this sport more than me. Although at this current moment, I have a broken jaw from the first damn punch he hit me with. Son of a b*tch. I’m likely getting my mouth wired shut.

“I’ve got to tell you, I wouldn’t have picked a different career if I had the opportunity years ago.”

For those counting, that’s now nine fights in a row without a win in the UFC for Alvey, a new promotional record that no fighter would want to hold.

This will almost certainly be the last fight of the 36-year-old Alvey’s UFC career after his current contract came to a close following this bout, but it remains to be seen whether ‘Smilin’ Sam’ will continue to pursue that elusive win in another promotion once his jaw heals.
