Sergey Spivak TKO’s Greg Hardy In First Round At UFC 272

Sergey Spivak made short work of Greg Hardy tonight at UFC 272, bringing him down to the mat in the opening minute before finding a finish via ground-and-pound.

Round One:

Outside leg kick from Hardy to start. Now he starts to pump out the jab and then lands another leg kick.

Body punch from Hardy now. Light inside kick. He tries for a straight right down the pipe.

Spivak gets into range for a takedown attempt and manages to do so via a judo throw and settles into half-guard parallel to the cage.

Hardy gives up his back and is able to stand up, but Spivak stays clinched up and brings him back down again. Hardy battling to stand up but Spivak adjusts and sends him back to the mat and now gets to mount and rains down ground and pound.

Hardy looks out of his depth and is not putting up much of a fight here, opting to cover up as the blows rain down and soon after the ref steps in to wave off the fight, handing Spivak an easy TKO victory at 2.16mins of the first round.

That was the last fight on Hardy’s UFC deal and after that performance it seems unlikely that they’ll be in a hurry to keep the former NFL player on-board.
