Sodiq Yusuff vs. Diego Lopes Added To UFC 300

A featherweight fight between Sodiq Yusuff and Diego Lopes has been added to the UFC 300 fight card in Las Vegas on April 13th.

It’s arguably the least high-profile fight added so far to the star-studded show, but yet it looks set to be a fun fight that should deliver on the night.

The 30-year-old Yusuff is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Edson Barboza in a Fight Night headliner back in October of last year, leaving him ranked No.12 in the division.

However, Yusuff had won two fights before that against Alex Caceres and Don Shainis and in total currently holds a 6-2 record in the UFC.

The 29-year-old Lopes has quickly marked himself out as a game fighter after impressing in his short-notice debut against the undefeated Movsar Evloev back in May of last year, getting off to a fast start and making his opponent work hard for his eventual decision victory.

Lopes then went on to prove that wasn’t just a one-off performance by compiling back-to-back wins over Gavin Tucker and Pat Sabatini in the remainder of his 2023 campaign to stand out as one of the year’s most notable newcomers.

Yusuff vs. Lopes joins a UFC 300 card that remains without a headlining fight, but has an increasingly stacked line-up that includes the likes of Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway in a ‘BMF’ title fight, women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili going up against Yan Xiaonan, Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan, Jiri Prochazka vs. aleksander Rakic, Aljamain Sterling vs. Calvin Kattar and Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Cody Garbrandt.
