Stefan Struve Returns To Fight Ben Rothwell At UFC On ESPN 7

It seems Stefan Struve has now retired after all and he’s now going to fight Ben Rothwell at UFC On ESPN 7 on December 7th in Washington D.C.

Struve won the last fight on his previous UFC deal against Marcos Rogerio de Lima by way of an arm triangle choke in the second round back in February, then afterwards strongly hinted that this would likely be the last fight of his career.

However, the 31-year-old has apparently had a change of heart, despite having lost his last three fights in a row prior to that against Alexander Volkov, Andrei Arlovski and Marcin Tybura.

It’s not Rothwell’s turned to try to bounce back after a trio of losses that’s seen the 37-year-old lose out by unanimous decision to Junior dos Santos, Blagoy Ivanov and Andrei Arlovski.

Two of those wins occurred this year after having served a two-year suspension for a failed drug test.

Struve vs. Rothwell joins a UFC On ESPN 7 card that is also expected to feature a fight between Aspen Ladd and Yana Kunitskaya, plus Claudia Gadelha vs. Cynthia Calvillo. As yet a main event has not been named for the show, which will be the first in the nations capital since 2011.
