A heavyweight clash between Stefan Struve and Marcos Rogerio de Lima has been confirmed for UFC On ESPN+ 3 in Prague, Czech Republic on February 23rd.
The fight comes at a troubling time for Struve as he’s coming off a trio of losses for the first time in his career.
That losing slump began with a TKO loss to Alexander Volkov last year and was followed up by further defeats on the scorecards against Andrei Arlovski and Marcin Tybura in 2018.
You have to go back to 2016 to find the last time the ‘Skyscraper’ had his hand raised in the Octagon after submitting Daniel Omielanczuk, while prior to that he had KO’d Antonio Silva in just 16 seconds.
As for de Lima, almost his entire UFC run to date has consisted of alternating between wins and losses.
However, has only fought twice at heavyweight, with his debut being a 20 second KO victory over Richardson Moreira all the way back in 2014, while he recently returned to the division with a unanimous decision win over Adam Wieczorek in November.
That, together with a three year run at light-heavyweight leaves de Lima with an overall 5-3 run in the UFC to date.
Struve Vs de Lima joins a UFC On ESPN+ 3 card that will be headlined by Thiago Santos Vs Jan Blachowicz.
