Tatiana Suarez recently revealed that she was finally set to make a comeback after years on the sidelines and now we know who her opponent will be, going up against Montana De La Rosa at UFC Fight Night 220 on February 25th in Las Vegas.
In 2016, Suarez won Season 23 of The Ultimate Fighter, and went on to win five fights in the UFC, defeating the likes of Alexa Grasso by submission, Carla Esparza by TKO, and Nina Nunes by decision along the way to improve her career record to 8-0.
However, the now 32-year-old has since struggled with serious neck and knee injuries that have kept her out of action for several years, with her last fight being in June of 2019.
Now she’ll attempt to pick up where she left off against the 27-year-old De La Rosa, who is coming in off a unanimous decision loss to Macy Barber last time out.
Looking through a wider lens, De La Rosa has only one win from her last four fights, leaving her with an overall 5-3-1 record in the UFC.
Suarez vs. De La Rosa joins a UFC Fight Night 220 card that is expected to be headlined by Nikita Krylov vs. Ryan Spann, alongside the likes of Brendan Allen vs. Andre Muniz and Augusto Sakai vs. Don’tale Mayes.
