Tim Elliott In On Short Notice vs. Sumudaerji At UFC Fight Night 233; Marcos vs. Vera Nixed

Two short-notice changes to this weekend’s UFC Fight Night 233 event in Las Vegas have emerged, with Allan Nascimento out of his main card fight against Sumudaerji due to an injury, while a prelim fight between Daniel Marcos and Carlos Vera has been scrapped.

UFC officials have been able to salvage a fight for Sumudaerji to ensure he remains on the line-up, with Tim Elliott stepping in on just a few days notice to face him.

The 36-year-old Elliott’s last fight was a little over a month ago when he was submitted by Muhammed Mokaev in the 3rd round.

Prior to that he had won two decision victories in a row against Tagir Ulanbekov and Victor Altamarino and currently holds the No.10 spot on the flyweight rankings.

Now he’ll be taking on the 27-year-old Sumudaerji, who hasn’t fought since a submission loss to Matt Schnell back in July of last year.

Prior to that Sumudaerji had been on a three-fight winning streak, beating Andre Soukhamthath, Malcolm Gordon and Zarrukh Adashev and is currently situated one placed behind Elliott at No.11 in the rankings.

Sumudaerji vs. Elliott is expected to still feature on the main card of Saturday night’s show, which will be headlined by a bantamweight fight between Song Yadong and Chris Gutierrez.
