A welterweight fight between Tim Means and Alex Morono has been signed for UFC Fight Night 224 on May 13th at a destination still to be confirmed.
The bout comes at a time when the 39-year-old Means is coming off back-to-back losses, suffering a submission defeat against Kevin Holland followed by a split-decision loss to Max Griffin.
However, prior to that the 11-year UFC veteran had been on a three-fight winning streak against the likes of Laureano Staropoli, Mike Perry and Nicolas Dalby.
Now he’ll be squaring up to the 32-year-old Morono, who is coming off a third round KO loss to Santiago Ponzinibbio back in December of last year.
That snapped Morono’s four-fight winning streak in which he’d TKO’d Donald Cerrone and picked up decision wins over the likes of David Zawada, Mickey Gall and Matthew Semelsberger.
Means vs. Morono joins a UFC Fight Night 224 card that will be headlined by a light-heavyweight fight between Anthony Smith and Johnny Walker, while Daniel Rodriguez vs. Ian Garry, Matt Brown vs. Court McGee and Mackenzie Dern vs. Angela Hill are amongst the other confirmed fights so far.
