UFC 211 Post-Fight Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC 211 event the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was a preliminary card scrap between Chase Sherman and Rashad Coulter.

Sherman battered Coulter’s leg repeatedly with kicks during the fight to the point where just standing was a challenge, but his opponent refused to quit.

However, in the end an elbow strike in the second round from Sherman delivered a KO victory.

Heavyweight champion headliner Stipe Miocic earned a ‘Performance Of The Night’ award for his first round TKO finish against Junior dos Santos.

Early leg kicks from JDS had hurt Miocic, but he kept pressuring the former champ regardless and that soon paid off as he repeatedly began to back him up against the cage and hurt him with strikes.

A crushing right hand then sunk Dos Santos to the mat, with ground and pound sealing the stoppage win just 2.22mins into the fight.

The other ‘Performance Of The Night’ award was handed to Jason Knight who defeated Chas Skelly by TKO.

This was a competitive fight, but despite being hurt by a head kick late in the second, Knight was able to turn the screw by dropping Skelly with a huge uppercut early in the third and then finished him on the floor with further strikes.
