UFC 223 Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC 223 event in New York the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was a highly entertaining main card fight between Zabit Magomedsharipov and Kyle Bochniak.

Magomedsharipov showed exactly why he’s one of the best rising talents in the game right now with a masterful display of striking and grappling throughout the fight, but Bochniak also displayed tremendous toughess to make it to the final bell, never wavering in his attempts to find a finish despite having being battered and bloodied.

Olivier Aubin-Mercier claimed one of two ‘Performance Of The Night’ awards after he made short work of Evan Dunham, TKO’ing him in just 53 seconds after a knee to the body took the fight out of the veteran.

Chris Greutzemacher also earned a ‘Performance Of The Night’ for his two-round beatdown of Joe Lauzon in which he repeatedly found a home for big punches that left his opponent’s face a swollen, bloody mess and rightly convinced his cornermen to decided that he’d taken enough punishment inbetween rounds.
