Following last night’s UFC 226 event in Las Vegas the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

On this occasion there was no ‘Fight Of The Night’ award and instead there were four ‘Performance Of The Night’ awards.

Of course, one of them had to go to the UFC’s new heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier after he produced a stunning first round knockout victory over Stipe Miocic in the main event, becoming one of the few fighters ever to hold two titles at the same time.

Anthony Pettis showed that he’s still a major threat with an impressive triangle armbar submission early in the second round of his fight with Michael Chiesa after initially hurting him on the feet and forcing him into a reactive takedown.

Khalil Rountree secured the biggest win of his career to date in the main card opener, managing to floor kickboxing ace Gokhan Saki with a punch in the opening round and then seal the knockout with follow-up strikes on the mat.

Finally, Paulo Costa extended his unbeaten record to 12-0 in the prelims courtesy of a second round TKO stoppage against Uriah Hall, with his power punches to the body and head sending his opponent slumping to the mat.
