Dana White has announced that the UFC are bringing three major title fights to Florida for their first full-arena show in over a year at UFC 261 on April 24th.
“UFC 261 on April 24 will be in Jacksonville, Fla., with a full house of fans – full capacity at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena,” White said on a Twitter video. “And you know I’m bringing an incredible card. … This is a stacked card in front of 15,000 UFC fans.”
The event will be headlined by a welterweight title rematch between current champion Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal.
The two previously fought at UFC 251 on Fight Island last year in a short-notice bout after Masvidal stepped in to replace Gilbert Burns, only to be decisively outgrappled by the champion over five rounds.
Now Masvidal will get a second crack at the whip, but this time with a full training camp under his belt.
The co-main event sees women’s flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko taking on one of the toughest test of her title reign so far in former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade.
There’s also room for a third title showdown on the card, with current strawweight champion Weili Zhang set to defend her belt against Rose Namajunas.
