UFC 270 Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC 270 event in Anaheim the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was another highly competitive flyweight title fight between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno as the battled all the way to the final bell in their trilogy encounter.

This fight really was on a knife-edge for much of the encounter as they largely gave as good as they got, but Figueiredo was finding success with hard low kicks throughout the bout and also flexed his power by momentarily putting the titleholder on the mat on a couple of occasions on his way to a unanimous decision victory to reclaim the belt.

Earlier on the main card Said Nurmagomedov ensured he’d be coming away with a ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus when he ran through Cody Stamann in surprisingly swift fashion, turning up the heat immediately with big punches and kicks, then sunk in a reactive guillotine choke as his opponent tried desperately to wrestle him, leading to a quick tapout at the 47 second mark.

Also grabbing a performance award was prelim card fighter Vanessa Demopoulos, who came under fire early in the first round against Silvana Gomez Juarez and found herself fighting off her back, only to then rally by securing an armbar submission and forcing a tapout at the 2.25min mark.
