UFC 280 takes place this coming Saturday, October 22nd at an earlier time than usual in Abu Dhabi and we’ve got the full fight card below.
In the main event of the evening there’s a fascinating lightweight showdown for the vacant title as former Charles Oliveira looks to reclaim the belt that was stripped from him due to a weight miss and improve upon his 11-fight winning streak when he goes up against Islam Makhachev, who has more than earned his title shot after going on a 10-fight run.
There’s also title action in the co-main event as bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling comes off back-to-back victories over Petr Yan to take on former champion TJ Dillashaw, who beat Cory Sandhagen in his comeback fight last year after a two-year USADA suspension.
The aforementioned Petr Yan also competes on this card as he looks to get back to winning ways and potentially set up a fight with the winner of the co-main event when he goes up against Sean O’Malley, who is taking on his biggest fight to date after going unbeaten in his last four fights.
Back at lightweight, two of the division’s leading contender clash, with Beneil Dariush’s seven-fight winning streak taking him to the No.6 spot on the ladder, while Mateusz Gamrot is two places behind him after emerging victorious in his last four bouts.
Katlyn Chookagian is currently the No.1 ranked women’s flyweight and will hope to solidify a second title shot opportunity if she can defeat Manon Fiorot, who is undefeated in her four UFC fights so far.
