Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 108 event in Nashville the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was the main event striking battle between Cub Swanson and Artem Lobov.
Lobov was a huge underdog going into the fight, but he did his best to make things competitive and showed off a granite chin as he caught with some big shots, while being outclassed by Swanson for the duration of the five round encounter.
Mike Perry earned a ‘Performance Of The Night’ award for his highlight-reel finish against Jake Ellenberger, which came after he’d already dropped the down-on-his-luck fighter earlier in the second round.
The two then clinched up, but Perry managed to create enough distance to unleash a powerful elbow strike that brutally knocked out Ellenberger, who was still being tended to on the mat as Perry began his post-fight interview.
Also scooping up a ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus was Brandon Moreno, who had found himself coming off second-best for much of the first round against Dustin Ortiz, who was doing his best to stifle him with his wrestling.
However, Moreno then dropped Ortiz with a head kick then moved to his back and sunk in the fight-ending rear-naked choke.
