Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 113 event from Glasgow, Scotland was watched by an average of 402,000 viewers on FOX Sports 1.
At first glance that might seem like an unusually low number, but that’s largely down to the fact that the event aired on an unusual Sunday afternoon slot between 3-6pm ET due to the fact that it was being aired live from the UK.
Still, it also has to be said that this wasn’t the strongest line-up we’ve seen for a Fight Night card, with headliners Gunnar Nelson and Santiago Ponzinibbio not having proven drawing power, while much of the rest of the card was targeted more at the local market, including a number of Scottish fighters.
It was also an event that essentially fell of the radar as far as marketing goes, with all the attention being drawn to the previous week’s International Fight Week double-header in Las Vegas, while the week of the fight was all about the Mayweather Vs McGregor promotional world tour.
As such, the event was down in ratings from the last time the promotion offered up a Sunday afternoon event for UFC Fight Night 109 in Sweden on May 28th, which had a bigger headliner featuring Alexander Gustafsson Vs Glover Teixiera and delivered 496,000 viewers.
In addition, UFC Fight Night 113’s preliminary card mustered 284,000 viewers, while the post-fight show drew 222,000.
